Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) is a comprehensive, therapeutic and educational intervention process designed to minimize the impact of critical incidents on business and industry, police, and other emergency service workers. It involves peer, group and one-on-one support during, immediately after, and in the days following a critical incident, regardless of shift.

Critical Incident Stress Debriefing will assist employees in understanding and coping with their stress and have been proven to accelerate the recovery process in persons experiencing reactions after a critical incident. Debriefing sessions are confidential.

Benefits of Critical Incident Debriefing

Critical Incident Debriefing, performed immediately after an incident is over, allows for peer support, information, and ventilation of feelings or immediate concerns affecting employees and their families. CID serves as a value tool in stabilizing and supporting the workforce in the event of:

  • Construction site life threatening injury or death
  • Death of an employee
  • Suicide of an employee
  • Mass Casualty Incidents
  • Line of Duty death
